Day 103: Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu 10/01/12
We are on the morning bus to Coimbatore, where we have the back seat and everyone has a Tamil movie blaring through the speakers playing on the LCD tv at the front. On go the headphones until I am befriended by two young guys, who I discuss cricket, music and WWE with (again they think WWF is real…).
Off the bus and try to find somewhere to stay. Turns out the bus station is quite a distance from the main city centre and we catch a tuk-tuk to the commercial centre. Eventually find a place to stay in the biggest town we have visited in some time. Lunch, check emails and mooch about, finding a shop run by a factory owner, who supplies lots of European and American retailers, where there is an abundance of quality clothes at small prices. We buy loads for very little, including some baby clothes that have Gemma cooing and head for some tea. Mooch around further before we realise we have been out and about for about ten hours! We visit a market stall on the way back, where Gemma asks the guy if he has any bigger trousers, at which point he pulls out a pair of Bernard Manning size pants!
